Efringe District
حي الافرنج
When the French engineer، Jomard، was entrusted with planning the city of Ismailia after the completion of the digging of the Suez Canal, he divided the city into squares, each square bearing the name of a neighborhood whose names still exist until now. The first being El Efringe district for the French, Greeks and other foreigners, and the second being the Arab district, in which the rest of the citizens of Egypt and Arab countries reside. The neighborhood still maintains the same architectural form that was established by the French company surrounded by orchards and trees.
